Anyone who works in a darkroom does some chemistry
by developing photos, but not all have the kind of intangible chemistry that allows them to say they find photography “relaxing and satisfying,” especially when a photo doesn’t turn out according to plan. |

of this school year, six of the teachers
from the north basement of Grant High
School have had at least one classroom
break-in. All of them have reported stolen
property belonging to the Portland Public

Grant High School is well known for its outstanding
choir programs such as Royal Blues, Acapella, Gospel
choir, Choralaires, Harmonaires and most recently,
Hooked on Harmonics, an all boys a cappella group.
Making a debut
at the Spring Vocal
Concert last
year, they were
a hit and have
since performed
at the Fall Vocal
Concert, Winter
Concert, Grant
Auction, and One
Acts. Senior Celine
Bledsoe said,
“I love them. They
make me want
to cry because
they’re so good.
When they sing
‘Kiss the Girl’ it’s
amazing.” |

It is estimated that all together Portland Public school students spend $4.5 million on bus and rail fares per year. In an effort to make transportation affordable for Portland Public School’s many students,
the Multnomah Youth Commission worked to create a program called YouthPass. YouthPass, when fully enacted, will eventually give all PPS students in grades 6-12 free bus passes. |
