For Grant senior Jonathon Cordeta, AKA
J-Young, music is no part time hobby; quite the contrary, it defines
his lifestyle and, if all goes according to plan, will soon become
the basis of his career. Stressing the importance of music in his
life, Cordeta explains that, "music, to me, is what basketball
is to LeBron James." Clearly, Cordetta's music is not to
be taken lightly; put simply, he's one serious dude. |

"Language is how you define
yourself as a human being, and if you can't express that, you
can't express yourself," said Jacoa Thomas after she and
Alauno Porter taught "Ebonics Jeopardy," to Lewis and
Clark graduate students on March 5, 2008, quizzing their knowledge of

As the spring season continues on

music institution, the Manhattan School of Music, is testament to the
fact that Chester is one dedicated jazz pianist.

Coaches have the ability and power to
inspire and create runners. As role models to young and inexperienced
runners, their wisdom can lead to lifelong changes, and a love for
running and competition.
After almost 30 years of coaching, Greg
Cotton will retire from his positions as a teacher and a cross
country and track head coach at Grant. Although coach Cotton's
retirement has left some of his runners anxious and nervous about
being coached by a new person, his successor, Geoff Henderson, is
more than qualified to help the Generals' cross country team reach
their highest goals. |
