Sophomore Brendon Self is only one step
away from becoming an Eagle Scout. He has already completed about
twenty required merit badges and now must organize an "Eagle
project" to receive his certificate. Self will be leading
students from school and outside communities to help send support to
schools in Kenya.
Self, who is 15-years old, has Down
Syndrome, a genetic disorder in which a person is born with an extra

It was the first game of the year, and
Grant was looking for validation. Grant was facing perennial power
Jesuit at home, intent on proving that their #1 ranking statewide was
no fluke. Both teams started slow, but after several possessions
Grant's Mike James got loose on a fast brake. James, a 6 foot 1

about it, which may be many of you, Earth Hour happened over spring
break. Across the globe on March 29, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. people

Paintbrushes, clay, cameras, and

but on March 18 and 19 the AP Art Studio class was invaded by robots.
The first day of the two-day class the students learned basic
programming techniques and the parts of the LEGO NXT robot. The
second day was focused on using their new skills to create art. The
students approached the project in several different ways and each
group came up with a unique program and piece of art.

The Grant Tennis is one of the most
under-recognized sports in the school, for being so successful. The
team has won the district title three out of the last four years.
Head Coach Brian Hendrickson, with the help of first year assistant
coaches Chris Osaka and Ry Koteen, has been working his team nicely
for years.
So far this year, Grant has had a rocky
start but overall has had a promising season and has high hopes of
winning the district title for 2008. |
