Dear Grantonian Advice Column- I have a bad case of senioritis. I am so tired of school, I just want to be done!! Help me!
--Potential Senioritis Victim

Dear Potential Victim-
Half of the advice column staff completely understands your problem and the other half wishes it had the excuse of being a senior for not doing work. Here are some hints on getting through the rest of the year:
  1. Prioritize
Remember that you MUST pass English, economics, and government to graduate. Focus on doing well in these classes and any others that are required. This doesn’t mean you should forget your electives, but if you’re going to slack off in something don’t make it a core class.
  2. Research your School’s Policies on Grades
If you are having trouble getting motivated, contact the school you plan to attend next year and find out its policy on 8th semester grades. Finding out that your school requires you maintain a certain GPA will encourage you to succeed in your classes and bring your grades up if you are slipping.
  3. Set Aside Time to Study
This is true for everyone, but especially people who are having trouble finishing class work. Set aside a time each day or each week to get caught-up. This is especially easy if you have a study hall or free period. Force yourself to do homework then so you are free when you want to go out with your friends.
All that being said, you are a senior! Enjoy your last semester of high school. Of course you need to keep your grades up, but don’t worry if you find yourself missing the occasional assignment. Good luck!
